Area: SQL Server
Issue: Creating a RedBeam Database using Seed Executable.
Generally Caused By: Attaching RedBeam to Existing SQL Server
Level of Complexity: Medium
Access through the RedBeam CD or your systems File Explorer – My Computer> C:>Program Files>RedBeam>(Asset Tracking, Inventory Tracking or Check In Check Out)
Run the Seed executable from the server machine to create a new Database onto your existing server. In Asset Tracking, this will be named “RBAT55Seed.exe”. In Inventory Tracking and Check In / Check Out, this will be named “Seed.exe”
Edit the value for Server to the correct server using the syntax:(Servername\Instance) and Type the database as MAIN if you have RedBeam Inventory Tracking or RedBeam Check In Check Out. If you have RedBeam Asset Tracking then name the database RBAT.
After the package executes, make sure SQL Configuration Manager has the same protocols enabled for your Server instance (Start -> Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration Tools -> SQL Server Configuration Manager.
