If you have User Fields setup in your previous version of RedBeam, you will need to create the User Fields in the new Web Asset Tracking application prior to importing. A guide to adding User Fields in Web Asset Tracking can be found here
Exporting Data From PC Based Asset Tracking:
Open your PC based Asset Tracking program and navigate to Reporting >> Master Data.
Select Room List >> All Rooms to get an Excel report of all Buildings and the Rooms associated with those Buildings.
Select Export at the bottom left.
The Export form will appear and you will need to select Export again.
Save that Excel file to your PC wherever you would like. Ensure that you can get back to it as we will need this file later.
Once the rooms are exported, you will need to export all your assets by selecting Reporting >> Asset Data.
Ensure that the Asset Data radio button is selected, and click Export at the bottom left.
Once the Export Form appears, select the radio button for ‘For Import’ and click Export. You may save this file anywhere on your PC. We will need to access this file later.
Importing Data To Web Based Asset Tracking:
Open web asset tracking and click the import icon on the assets page and select import data.
Select the Locations export you previously saved from the PC based application first and select open.
Web Asset Tracking will display status of the import in the top right of the screen and will notify when import is complete.
Note: Larger imports can take several minutes to complete.
Select the Asset export you previously saved from the PC based application and select open.
Congratulations you have completed your import! Please refresh your browser to display your newly added location and asset data.
